First female Santiago City police chief appointed

Police Col. Edith D. Narag was appointed as the first lady Santiago City Police Office (SCPO) chief.
A member of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) Class 2001, Narag, former chief of the Comptrollership Division of Police Regional Office-2, assumed the position in a ceremony
at the SCPO headquarters on Thursday, May 14.
The ceremony was presided over by Police Brig. Gen. Mariano C. Rodriguez, PRO-2 director.
Rodriguez emphasized the importance of sustaining effective administrative and operational functions to maintain peace and order in Santiago City.
Outgoing SCPO chief Police Col Lucio L. Simangan Jr. thanked local government unit, the City Advisory Group, and SCPO officers and personnel for their support and cooperation.
Narag assured her commitment to further strengthen law enforcement efforts and sustain peace and order in the city through unity, collaboration, and community partnership.
