Dante Ang, the former special envoy for international public relations, passed away, his family said on Tuesday night, May 5.
"It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our dad, Dr. Dante A. Ang," Joanna Ang said in a Facebook post.
His wake begins on Wednesday, May 6, at the Manila Memorial Park in Sucat, Parañaque City.
"In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to his favorite charity, Hospicio de San Jose," Joanna added.
Ang also served as chairman emeritus of The Manila Times.
He was appointed as special envoy for international public relations by former president Rodrigo Duterte.
He also served as the publicist of former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo from 1993 to 2003.
Ang was appointed by Arroyo as chairman of the Commission on Filipinos Overseas in December 2005. He remained in the post until the end of Arroyo's Palace term on June 30, 2010.
