BACOLOD CITY - Negros Occidental sustained P428 million in infrastructure damage from typhoon "Tino."
The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said bridges incurred the highest damage at P296,300,000; followed by roads at P85,800,000; schools at P21,816,533.33; other structures at P16,374,016; government facilities at P7,516,750; and creeks at P100,000.
Severely affected were Bago City, La Castellana, Moises Padilla, La Carlota City, and Hinigaran.
Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson visited affected areas on Monday, Nov. 10.
The typhoon has displaced 179,092 families composed of 661,900 individuals in 547 barangays in the province.
