Muntinlupa among top cities in spending efficiency, ranks 8th nationwide
Muntinlupa City ranked eighth among the top 10 cities in the country in terms of Total Current Operating Expenditures (TCOE) per capita for fiscal year 2024.
The Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) released a list of top performing local government units based on financial management indicators.
Muntilupa recorded a per capita expenditure of P11,190.80, placing it eighth in the national ranking for TCOE.
“Ang pagkilalang ito ay patunay ng maayos, matipid, at mahusay na pamamalakad ng Pamahalaang Lungsod sa paggamit ng pondo ng bayan—na nagreresulta sa epektibong serbisyo sa mamamayan nang hindi maluho o magastos ang operasyon (This recognition is a testament to the City Government’s sound, economical, and efficient management of public funds—resulting in effective service delivery to the citizens without being extravagant or costly in operations),” the Muntinlupa City government said.
It added, “Ang TCOE per Capita ay sukatan ng kahusayan sa paggasta ng mga lokal na pamahalaan, batay sa laki ng kanilang populasyon at lawak ng operasyon. Muling ipinakita ng Muntinlupa na sa wastong pamumuno, bawat pisong pondo ay naipapasok sa tamang direksyon—para sa kapakinabangan ng bawat Muntinlupeño (TCOE per Capita is a measure of the efficiency of local governments’ spending, based on their population size and scope of operations. Muntinlupa has once again demonstrated that with proper governance, every peso of funds is channeled in the right direction—for the benefit of every Muntinlupeño).”
According to the BLGF, the ranking was based on the 2024 TCOE and population data.
TCOE includes spending on general public services; education, culture, and sports/manpower development; health, nutrition and population control; labor and employment; housing and community development; social services and social welfare; economic services; and debt service (interest expense and other charges).
