Greg Slaughter expresses intention to make PBA comeback

Greg Slaughter has expressed his intention to return to the PBA three years after his messy departure from the league.
In a statement he released on Wednesday, Oct. 15, Slaughter made amends for all of the miscommunications in the past that led to his unceremonious exit before expressing his intention to make his PBA comeback.
"It is with the same gratitude that I approach this new season in my life with humility - the humility to recognize what I did wrong, and the humility to offer my profound apologies for miscommunications in the past that caused offense to an association that has been so good to me, an association that has made my dream of playing for a Filipino premier league come true,” said Slaughter.
Slaughter said it has been a dream of him to play in the PBA and he wanted his wife and children to see him play again in the big league.
“It is my dream to come back, and it is my dream for my family to see me proud of playing on the home court. I want my wife and children to watch me play basketball in the PBA again. I want my three daughters to be proud of their father. I want them to grow up seeing me beam with pride in the PBA,” he added.
The 7-foot center last played in the PBA as part of then-NorthPort Batang Pier before leaving to play in the Japan B.League in 2021.
And he couldn’t help but look back at the past years playing outside the PBA – a stretch where he felt something was missing in him.
“It is my dream to come back, and it is my dream for my family to see me proud of playing on the home court. I want my wife and children to watch me play basketball in the PBA again. I want my three daughters to be proud of their father. I want them to grow up seeing me beam with pride in the PBA,” he said.
Slaughter also mentioned SMC Sports Director Alfrancis Chua, who he thanked for allowing him to play at Ginebra where he won four PBA championships.
As it stands, the right of Slaughter remained with Titan Ultra, the new team which acquired his old team NorthPort.
There has been talks about his potential comebacks but nothing has materialized yet for the two camps.
