Bagong Henerasyon (BH) Party-list says it is commiserating with the thousands of Filipinos who took to the streets on Sunday, Sept. 21 to condemn the massive corruption in government.
"The 'Trillion Peso March' is a testament to the unyielding spirit of a people who refuse to remain silent in the face of theft, betrayal, and the brazen abuse of public trust," BH Party-list said in a statement.
"The Bagong Henerasyon Party List stands in solidarity with every Filipino who chooses to make their voice heard, not through violence or division, but through the strength of peaceful protest," the group said.
"We march with you, and we commit to listen more closely and act more firmly on the people’s cry for justice and transparency. In the wave of the people’s march, we will hear one truth resound: we are Filipinos first, before we are partisans, before we are factions, before we are political colors," added the party-list, whose nominee in the current 20th Congress is Rep. Robert Nazal.
BH Party-list underscored that the Sunday demonstrations cannot be claimed by any political movement as their own.
"This march is not red, nor yellow, nor pink, nor green. It is the color of every Filipino heart that beats for dignity, justice, and accountability. It is the cry of workers and students, of farmers and office workers, of mothers, fathers, and solo parents who know that every peso stolen is food snatched from a table, education denied to a child, and shelter withheld from the poor," it said.
"History tells us that the Filipino people cannot be silenced when their dignity is trampled...Let us remind those in power that this nation is not theirs to plunder, but ours to defend," the party-list further said.
