Ate Gay has temporarily stepped away from performing after being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.
According to "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho," Ate Gay has also sought prayers for his condition. But he was told that it has no more cure.
"Wala raw lunas. Masakit sa akin. Halos araw-araw umiiyak ako. Hindi naman ako nagkulang kay Lord. Although lagi kong sinasabi na walang himala. (There is no cure. It hurts me. I cry almost every day. I have not failed the Lord. Although I always say that there are no miracles)," the comedian said.

Ate Gay recalled, "Parang beke lang siya noon. Hindi pantay ang mukha ko. (It was like I just had mumps. My face is uneven.)"
Ate Gay had an ultrasound and a CT scan, leading to a recommendation for a biopsy. The initial findings suggested that the mass was benign, but he decided to seek a second opinion.
The comedian expressed that he is hurt after being told he won't live until 2026. "I need prayers. I need strength, and I hope I can handle my everyday life for now."
