The House of Representatives introduced on Tuesday, June 17 lawyer Antonio Bucoy as its dedicated spokesman for the prosecution panel in Vice President Sara Duterte's impeachment trial.
Bucoy held his first press conference Tuesday morning in his new capacity.
He said he will serve as the spokesman for both the House prosecution panel composed of congressmen and the private prosecutors. He said he was approached by his friends in the prosecution panel to take the job.
Ano ho ang nag-udyok sa akin na tanggapin ito? Para ho sa bayan...tinanggap ko po after talking to my family (What urged me to accept this? This is for the country...I accepted it after talking to my family), Bucoy said.
Asked about his payment or compensation, the lawyer said he took the job pro bono or without charge.
Wala po. Gaya po ng sinabi ko, ako po ay pinakiusapan kung maaring tumulong. Hindi ko na po kinakailangan ng bayad. Para ho sa bayan to. Hindi ho bayad, bayan (I don't have any. Like what I said, they asked me if I could help. I don't need any payment anymore. This is for the country. Not for payment, but for the country.)
