Campos-Peña tandem secures INC backing for Makati mayor, vice mayor posts

Incumbent Makati City congressman and mayoral bet Luis Campos and his running mate, Rep. Kid Peña, have been endorsed by the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) religious group for the upcoming May midterm elections.
Although the endorsement was not publicly announced by the INC, the endorsement was confirmed by sources familiar with the decision.
Aside from them, Makati District 1 representative aspirant Nicole Lagdameo and District 2 representative bet Alden Almario were also endorsed by the INC.
“Lubos po akong nagpapasalamat sa Pamunuan at ating mga Kapatid sa Iglesia ni Cristo para sa tiwala at suporta na inyong ipinagkaloob sa akin at sa Team United. Isang malaking karangalan at inspirasyon para sa akin ang inyong pagtangkilik (I am deeply grateful to the leadership and to our brothers and sisters in the Iglesia ni Cristo for the trust and support you have given me and Team United. Your patronage is a great honor and inspiration for me),” Campos said in a statement.
“Aking kinikilala ang malaking papel na inyong ginagampanan sa pagpapalaganap ng pagkakaisa, disiplina, at malasakit sa kapwa—mga prinsipyong aking pinanghahawakan at isinusulong sa aking paglilingkod (I recognize the important role you play in promoting unity, discipline, and concern for others—principles that I uphold and promote in my service),” he added.
