A black SUV caught fire while cruising along the northbound lane of EDSA, Ortigas on Thursday, August 8, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) reported.

According to the agency, the incident occurred at 9:10 a.m. and has occupied one lane of the avenue, causing heavy traffic to motorists.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) has already declared fire out and is now investigating the cause of the fire.
Meanwhile, the vehicle's driver was reported safe and is currently undergoing medical examinations.
The MMDA advised motorists to take alternate routes.
