Malate beauty crowned Miss Manila 2023

A beauty from Malate was crowned Miss Manila 2023 during the grand coronation night on Friday, June 23 at the Metropolitan Theater in Ermita, Manila.

Gabrielle Lantzer and 19 other candidates vied for the Miss Manila 2023 crown and title.

Lantzer is an 18-year-old dancer who recently graduated senior high school. She said she wanted to show her vibrant personality, confidence, sophistication, and wisdom that showcase the strength and resilience of a true Manileña.

She also received a cash price worth P1,000,000 for winning the title.

Lantzer also received special awards, including Best in Evening Gown, Best in Swimsuit, and Miss Villa Medica Manila.

Meanwhile, the candidate from Paco, Angela Okol, won the Miss Manila Tourism title, while Anne Carres De Mesa of Sta. Mesa got the Miss Manila Charity title.

The candidate from Pureza, Sta. Mesa, Karen Nicole Piccio, won first runner-up, while Francine Tajanlangit of Roxas Boulevard placed second runner-up.

The other candidates who received special awards were Anna Carres de Mesa of Sta. Mesa (Miss Photogenic) and Rethy Rosa of Maceda Sampaloc (Miss Riverpark Centrallis).

The city government said it wanted to revive the grandeur of the historic Manila carnival through the Miss Manila 2023.

It said a beauty pageant serves as a celebration of womanhood, empowerment, and the vibrant spirit of Manila that showcases Manileñas' beauty, intelligence, and commitment to making a positive impact in their community. (Richielyn Canlas)
