Public school teachers included in Manila's priority list for COVID-19 vaccination plan
Public school teachers in the City of Manila are included in the city government's list of people who will be prioritized in the distribution of the coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) vaccine.Â

In a Facebook post on Monday, Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso said all frontline health workers in the city's public and private hospital and clinics top their COVID-19 vaccine priority list, followed by barangay health workers and employees in all district health centers.
The administrative staff and personnel of the city's public and private hospitals and clinics will also be prioritized.
Next on the list are senior citizens followed by teachers from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, Unibersidad de Manila, and all other public schools in the city.
"Kasado na po ang ating COVID-19 vaccination plan oras na makakuha ang bansa ng mga bakuna (Our COVID-19 vaccination plan is ready once the country gets the vaccine)," Domagoso said in his post.
After the said sectors are inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccine, the city government will focus on vaccinating those who signed up in the manilacovid19vaccine.com website where residents can pre-register and reserve their slots for the vaccine.
Domagoso said around 60,000 individuals have already signed up on the website as of Monday.
The Manila city government has entered a tripartite agreement with British-Swedish biopharmaceutical company AstraZeneca, the National Task Force Against COVID-19, and the Department of Health for the purchase of 800,000 vaccine doses.
The initial supply of vaccines, that can benefit around 400,000 people, will arrive in the country "in a few months," the Manila mayor said.
The Manila city government has allocated a P250-million budget for the procurement of COVID-19 vaccines that will be distributed to residents and workers of the city for free.
