SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – Five dogs died after they were poisoned in Barangay San Nicolas, Agoo, La Union recently.

Their owner, Kate Bulacan, is grieving over the death of her five pets – four aspins (native dog) and a mini-pincher – by her neighbor on March 1.
Bulacan discovered her dogs frothing in the mouth. Food appeared to be mixed with poison were found nearby.
She learned that a neighbor was allegedly responsible for the poisoning. He admitted but could not explain why he committed the act.
He wished to settle the case but Bulacan refused.
He asked forgiveness from Bulacan on Wednesday, March 5, which she also refused.
Bulacan, in an interview with TeleRadyo Serbisyo, said he should have filed a complaint with the barangay instead of poisoning them.
Several animal welfare groups have contacted the owner to help her files cases. The man was a nephew of her husband.
