Man collecting debt shot dead in Ilocos Sur


SANTO DOMINGO, Ilocos Sur – A 40-year-old man collecting a debt was gunned down in Barangay Pussuac here on Wednesday morning, Feb. 19.

Police identified the victim as Dionisio Doques of Barangay Magsaysay, Sinait, Ilocos Sur and Barangay Parada, this town.

Investigation disclosed that the victim went to the house of the suspects George "Michael" Pascua, 37, and his son, John Vincent, 18, to collect P10,000 as payment for a water pump.

A heated altercation erupted where John Vincent drew a caliber. 38 revolver and shot the victim in the head and neck.

The suspects transported the victim’s body on a modified tricycle to a mountainous area in Barangay Paing, Bantay, Ilocos Sur and dumped his body.

Witnesses reported the incident to the police who arrested the suspects in a pursuit operation.

Lawmen recovered the victim’s body wrapped in a sack after the suspects pinpointed where it was dumped.

The suspects are under police custody and face appropriate charges.
