Indonesian standout Sheva Furyzcha and striker Angely Alferez came through with two goals each for the squad, which is still in a getting-to-know-you phase.

“I’m very happy [with our performance] because the team is starting to play cohesively,” Alferez said. “In a short period of time, we managed to understand each other on the pitch. The coaches are happy and we are happy.”

Collecting all three points was huge for MFC, but what got the attention of fans who watched the game was 14-year-old Rhiauna dela Calzada, the rising talent out of Cebu, who scored the first goal barely two minutes into the match.

Alferez added another goal in the 29th minute before Furyzcha chipped in her brace three minutes apart starting with a goal in the 47th minute.

Alferez capped the scoring with another goal in extra time.

“I wasn’t really thinking about the time. I just have the mentality of a striker and I just wanted to give my all,” she said.
