The Department of Tourism (DOT) has mobilized its regional operations centers nationwide to ensure the safe, smooth, and seamless travel of more than 30 million domestic and international tourists during the Holy Week break.
DOT Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco said the centers are monitoring key destinations, facilitating inter-agency coordination, and supporting secure and efficient visitor experiences across the country.
“Overall, we are delighted to note that Filipinos are actively traveling within the country, and our international tourists are enjoying experiential—meaningful and enriching—experiences,” Frasco said in an interview at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Apr. 10.
She likewise reminded travelers to patronize only DOT-accredited establishments, which guarantee quality service, safety, and protection from scams.
Among the top destinations this season are Cebu, Bohol, Boracay, Palawan, Siargao, Baguio, Batangas, Ilocos Norte and Sur, Pampanga, Pangasinan, and Puerto Galera.
Emerging sites such as Camiguin, Siquijor, and Cagayan de Oro continue to attract growing tourist interest.
Tourism activity in Mindanao remains strong, with Davao and Sarangani reporting steady increases in visitor arrivals.
In Metro Manila, Intramuros is projected to welcome around 2.4 million visitors this Holy Week, up from 2.2 million in 2023, driven by heritage tours and traditional religious activities such as Visita Iglesia.
The DOT also highlighted the 24/7 operations of its Tourist Assistance Call Center (TACC), which provides multilingual support—including Korean and Mandarin—and has responded to more than 14,000 inquiries from travelers in 72 countries.
