Chito Miranda thankful after court drops raps against wife Neri Naig

A court cleared actress-influencer-businesswoman Neri Naig-Miranda of syndicated estafa and violations of the Securities Regulation Code.

This was made public by her lawyer, Aureli Sinsuat, on Tuesday.

"We thank the courts for clearing the name of Neri Miranda, who has unmistakably been falsely accused of wrongdoing in the Dermacare case," Sinsuat said.

"We hope that this issue will be put to rest as regards to Neri, so that instrumentalities of the law can focus on bringing the true perpetrators of the Dermacare scam to justice," the lawyer added.

Neri's husband, Parokya Ni Edgar singer-songwriter Chito Miranda, took to social media to thank supporters.

"Sobrang blessed din kami dahil the people who matter knew the truth as well, and did everything they could to help and support her," he wrote.

"We are so thankful that she was eventually given the chance to defend herself and share her side of the story," he added.

Chito also shared the press statement from FLO Attorneys-at-Law which shows the ruling of Regional Trial Court (RTC) of Pasay City dismissing all pending cases against the actress related to the Dermacare /Beyond Skin Care Solutions scheme.

In an order dated Feb. 12, the court pointed out significant flaws in the original case against Miranda.

Branch 112 of RTC Pasay found that the private complainants failed to provide evidence of being defrauded by Neri.

Acting Presiding Judge Ronald August Tan, who issued the dismissal order, commented in his decision: "Private complainants never asserted having personally transacted with or handed over money to [Neri]....Therefore, the evidence presented indeed fails to establish that [Neri] committed the crime of Estafa, moreso, Syndicated Estafa."

In an earlier decision from Jan. 20, 2025, Acting Presiding Judge Gina Bibat-Palamos of RTC Pasay City Branch 111 also dismissed the complaints against Miranda concerning violations of the Securities Regulation Code (Republic Act No. 8799).
