Local candidates sign peace covenant in Muntinlupa


Candidates running for different local positions in the May 12 elections in Muntinlupa held a unity walk and signed a peace covenant to ensure clean and orderly polls. 

Joining the event were representatives from the Philippine National Police-Muntinlupa (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Muntinlupa, Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) and Commission on Elections (Comelec)-Muntinlupa.

Candidates who signed the peace covenant promised to follow election rules and promote peace during the campaign period. 

One of those who signed the covenant was Mayor Ruffy Biazon who is running unopposed in the May elections. 

Local voters in Muntinlupa will elect a mayor, vice mayor, congressman and councilors.
