Bacolod police vow to remain apolitical

BACOLOD CITY – Police Col. Joeresty Coronica, Bacolod police director, said they remain apolitical amid the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte over alleged crimes against humanity.

“Under my watch, I see to it that the Bacolod police remain apolitical,” Coronica said on Tuesday.

Coronica advised personnel to avoid engaging in political issues and commenting on Duterte’s arrest.

He urged them to keep any personal sentiments about the former President to themselves.

Their primary focus should remain on their professional duties, Coronica said.

“Whatever our sentiments, we have to keep it within us. We don’t need to let others know about it,” he said.

Coronica assured that their morale remains high.
