Most of Luzon to experience cooler temperatures, light rains with return of ‘amihan’ — PAGASA

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Monday, March 17 said the effect of the northeast monsoon, or “amihan,” has reintensified, bringing a slight drop in temperatures and light to moderate rains.

PAGASA weather specialist Benison Estareja said the amihan will bring cloudy skies with rains over Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, and Aurora.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the amihan will also affect the Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Region, and the rest of Cagayan Valley.

Meanwhile, the easterlies, or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean, will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms to Caraga, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.

The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
