In celebration of International Women’s Month, the Embassy of Israel in the Philippines, in collaboration with the School Division of Taguig City and Pateros Ususan Elementary School, hosted the forum, “The Isha Project” at the Ususan Elementary School. The event brought together teachers and advocates for women's empowerment.

The term “Isha” translates to “woman” in Hebrew, signifying the project's focus on female empowerment and advocacy. The forum featured a series of engaging discussions led by distinguished speakers, each contributing valuable insights and expertise to the attendees. Dr. Elaine Leynes from Makati Medical Center highlighted the critical importance of mental health, providing teachers, students, and attendees with practical advice and strategies for maintaining mental well-being. Mme. Gila Fluss, spouse of Ambassador Ilan Fluss, offered practical insights into nutrition and food preparation, emphasizing the significance of healthy eating habits for overall wellness.

Dr. Marissa Resulta, a scholar of MASHAV, the Israeli Agency for International Development Corporation, which has trained thousands of Filipino experts and professionals in various fields, educated the audience on recognizing the signs of child abuse, especially targeting teachers aiming to create a safer environment for children. The event was coordinated by Marge Barro, executive director of MMFF and fellow MASHAV Scholar, whose support and leadership were instrumental in the initiative's success.

Ambassador Fluss expressed his admiration for Filipina women, particularly teachers, commending their compassion and dedication to shaping future generations. With its message of hope, empowerment, and solidarity, “The Isha Project” left a lasting impression on its attendees, inspiring them to advocate for women's rights and well-being.

The Embassy of Israel is committed to touching lives, engaging at the grassroots level, and not just focusing on the political arena. The embassy is dedicated to celebrating Women’s Month and promoting empowerment globally.
