URDANETA CITY, Pangasinan – Mayor Julio Parayno has issued Executive Order No. 5-2025 suspending classes on all levels here from March 11 to March 14 due to the extreme heat.

The municipality of Rosales also cancelled afternoon classes on all levels for the same reason from March 11 to 14.
Other towns in this province also cancelled classes on all levels in public schools on Tuesday afternoon due to extreme heat – San Fabian, Mapandan, and Malasiqui.
In Santa Barbara, only classes up to high school in private and public schools were suspended; Calasiao, classes up to high school in private and public schools; and Manaoag, all levels in public and private schools.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration said that Urdaneta City is under the "extreme caution" category, where heat cramps and heat exhaustion are possible, and continuing activity could lead to heat stroke. This prompted the city government to suspend classes as precautionary measure and better manage the situation.
But Parayno said all personnel involved in providing frontline services, including but not limited to disaster risk reduction and management, medical care, and emergency response, shall continue to provide services.
