Government anti-narcotics agents confiscated on Friday night, P1.7 million worth of illegal drugs following the arrest of two Nigerians in a buy-bust operation in Bacoor City, Cavite.

In a statement, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said the suspects, with aliases Ik, 30, a student and Stanley, 34, an evangelist pastor, were nabbed at around 8:40 p.m. after selling P1,360,000 worth of suspected ecstasy and P340,000 worth of shabu to an undercover agent.

The authorities, who were strategically posted nearby, collared the two suspects after the undercover agent gave the signal that the transaction was consummated.

Aside from the 800 pieces of blue tablets of ecstasy and more or less 50 grams of shabu concealed in one heat-sealed plastic bag, the PDEA and the police also seized the buy-bust money during the operation.

Both suspects who are included in the high-value target (HVT) drug list of the authorities face charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165, or “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.’’
