Nothing pairs better with loud riffs and mosh pits than an ice-cold Red Horse Beer, and this year’s "Pambansang Muziklaban" is bringing both in full force. After a four-year break, the country’s biggest rock showdown is making a comeback, and with it, a night of strong brews and even stronger sounds.
On March 15, at Paseo de Sta. Rosa in Laguna, 12 bands will battle it out in two categories: "LAKAS" for hard rock and "AKLAS" for alternative rock. But beyond the competition, the festival vibe wouldn’t be complete without the right food and drinks.
Festival-goers can fuel up at local partner spots serving the kind of bold flavors that go hand-in-hand with an ice-cold Red Horse. TBS Blue Corner’s sizzling pusit, sizzling tilapia, and lechon kawali bring the crunch and sizzle, perfect with a strong beer in hand. Over at Comida De Lola, the lineup of beers, cocktails, and hearty Filipino dishes makes it an easy stop for a solid pre-show meal—or a late-night snack after the encore.
Of course, it wouldn’t be Muziklaban without big-name acts sharing the stage. This year’s event also features performances from Wilabaliw, Chicosci, Greyhoundz, Razorback, Dilaw, and past Muziklaban champions Happy Three Friends and Mayonnaise.
With tickets starting at just P100—including a beer and a chance to vote for your favorite band—it’s shaping up to be a night of pure rock-and-roll energy. Whether you’re there to discover the next big Pinoy rock act or just to enjoy the perfect mix of beer, food, and live music, this is one festival that hits hard in all the right ways.
