Couple nabbed in Cebu City drug sting

CEBU CITY – There will be no Valentine’s Day date for a young couple after they were arrested in a buy-bust operation here on Thursday, Jan. 30.

The suspects, identified as Nash and Precious, both 18-years-old, yielded packs of suspected shabu worth P34,000, police said.

The Drug Enforcement Unit of the Sawang Police Station arrested the couple after weeks of monitoring.

Police said they were informed that Nash was into drug peddling that prompted them to closely monitor them until the buy-bust operation was launched.

Charges for violation of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspects, police said.
