Actress Rufa Mae Quinto surrenders to NBI agents at NAIA

Actress Rufa Mae Quinto voluntarily surrendered to agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) upon arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) from the United States early Wednesday, Jan. 9.

According to Quinto's lawyer Mary Louise Reyes, the actress asked that her surrender be coordinated with the NBI after learning that a warrant of arrest had been issued against her by a Pasay City court.

Quinto arrived at NAIA Terminal 1 onboard a Philippine Airlines (PAL) flight from San Francisco, California, with her family at 5 a.m.

According to NBI NAIA Chief Jimmy De Leon, Quinto was first examined by a medico-legal officer before she was taken to the Pasay Court.

Reyes said her client was set to post bail amounting to P1.7 million.

Quinto is facing 14 counts of violation of the Securities Regulation Code.
