ILOILO CITY – A deal has been inked for the construction of a solar power plant project in northern Iloilo province.
Joy~Nostalg Solaris Inc. (Solaris) recently signed an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract with China Energy Engineering Group Northeast No. 1 Electric Power Construction Co. Ltd. (NEPC) for a solar power plant in Ajuy town.
EXECUTIVES of Joy~Nostalg Solaris Inc. (SOLARIS) and China Energy Engineering Group Northeast No. 1 Electric Power Construction Co. Ltd. (NEPC) signed a contract for construction of a solar power plant in Ajuy town, Iloilo province.
Once finished, the Solaris power plant with a capacity of 62 megawatts peak (MWPs) is projected to generate 94.32 gigawatt hours of clean and renewable energy per year and projected to provide electricity to over 25,000 Filipino homes.
In Iloilo, Solaris affiliate Palm Concepcion Power Corp. (PCPC) is the operator of the 135-megawatt coal-fired power plant in neighboring Concepcion town.
Nicandro Fucoy, president and chief executive officer of Solaris and PCPC, said the project is part of their long-term commitment to renewable energy.
The project also seeks to support the target of the Department of Energy (DOE) to achieve a 30 percent renewable energy share by 2030.
