CAVITE – A drinking spree in a resort in Silang took a bloody turn, leaving one dead and one hurt, on Saturday, Jan. 25.
A report from the Police Regional Office 4A said the three suspects and two victims were employees of the resort.
Initial investigation by the Silang Municipal Police Station (MPS) revealed that the suspects, identified as alias Jabbar, alias Rico, and alias Carlo, were having a drinking spree and swimming in the pool.
The victims, Dionisio B. Cabcaban and Emelinda A. Bacordo, reportedly reprimanded the suspects, reminding them that the resort owner instructed them to clean the pool to prepare for the arrival of their guests.
The suspects reportedly got agitated and took out an M16 rifle and bolos.
Alias Carlo allegedly shot the victims, hitting Cabcaban on various parts of the body and Bacordo on her leg. While the suspects were on the ground, the suspects purportedly attacked them with bolos.
The victims were taken to the Tagaytay Medical Center for treatment, but Cabcaban was later pronounced dead.
Following the incident, alias Jabbar and alias Rico fled the scene while alias Carlo was arrested.
The M16 rifle used in the crime was recovered at the scene, with its serial number defaced.
Silang MPS has launched a follow-up operation to collar the suspects at large.
