Tot drowns in pail of water in Bohol

CEBU CITY – A one-year-old boy died after he drowned in a pail of water on Tuesday morning, Jan. 21, in Barangay San Isidro, Sagbayan town, Bohol province.

Police Capt. Eric Binangbang, chief of the Sagbayan Police Station, said that before the incident, John Anry Lauron Tinapay was seen playing with his siblings at the back of their house.

While the children were playing, their parents went to their grandparents’ house to have breakfast. The house was a few meters away from the house of the Tinapays.

When a neighbor told the boy’s parents that he was seen playing with a bucket full of water, they instructed one of their children to check on John Anry.

The sibling found John Anry stuck in the pail with his head at the bottom of the bucket.

The baby, fourth in the brood of five, was still breathing when he was found inside the pail. He was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead, police said.
