A Chinese national allegedly engaged in sex trafficking activities has been arrested during an entrapment operation conducted by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Pasay City.
The NBI identified the Chinese national as Bing Abing who was arrested inside a hotel in Pasay City by operatives of the NBI Organized and Transnational Crimes Division (NBI-OTCD) last Jan. 14.
“Subject was apprehended in flagrante delicto (in the act of) sexually exploiting women in exchange for a fee,” the bureau said.
“Charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9208 otherwise known as the ‘Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003,’ as amended by RA 11862, the ‘Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2022,’ were filed against the Subject (Bing),” it added.
The NBI said the case stemmed from information received by NBI-OTCD regarding a Telegram channel being used to offer females for purposes of sexual exploitation.
“Investigation conducted revealed that the Telegram channel contained nude photos of females being advertised, with rates ranging from P6,500 to P18,000,” it said.
“Further, females were being offered to customers for sexual acts inside a hotel located at San Juan Street, Pasay City,” it added.
