Evangelist-solon CIBAC Party-List Rep. Bro. Eddie Villanueva welcomed on Tuesday, Jan. 21 the hardline pronouncement of newly-installed United States (US) President Donald Trump that there would only be two genders in the union--male and female.
“President Trump’s policy of recognizing male and female as the only genders will re-establish order in American society and families, which have been confused and destroyed by woke ideologies," Villanueva said in a statement.
"It will save the lives of many young people who are being deceived into ‘transitioning’ to opposite genders through the lies being peddled in schools and in the media,” said Villanueva, the president-founder of the Jesus Is Lord Church Worldwide (JILCW).
In his inauguration speech Tuesday, Trump said, "As of today, it will henceforth be the official policy of the [US] government that there are only two genders, male and female."
In relarion to this, the current and second Trump administration is expected to end all federal diversity programs.
Villanueva says he has high hopes that Trump will restore God’s principles and values not only in American society but also on the global stage.
“It is indeed refreshing and inspiring to see a leader, who acknowledges God’s sovereignty, occupying the most powerful position in America, if not in the world. We have nothing for President Trump but wholehearted prayers that God would grant him wisdom, strength, and guidance as he embarks on this significant role," he said.
"He (Trump) carries the responsibility not only to the American people to make America great again but also to the global community to uphold values rooted in God’s Word,” Villanueva said.
The former House deputy speaker also expressed hope that the Trump administration would further strengthen the long-standing friendship between the US and the Philippines.
“The US has been a steadfast partner of the Philippines in areas such as trade, security, and development. We look forward to revitalized cooperation under President Trump’s leadership, not only in areas of tangible benefits but also advancing shared values like democracy, human rights, and moral integrity," he said.
