Government anti-narcotics agents seized on Monday, Jan. 13 around P8.7 million worth of marijuana in an abandoned vehicle during a search warrant implementation in Santol town of La Union.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Director Joel Plaza said suspects Felmen Day-os Aliles Jr. alias ‘Dondon’, and Amado Paycao alias ‘Amado A. Gante Jr’. were subjected to a land interdiction on Jan. 10 but eluded arrest.

They also abandoned the vehicle after sensing the presence of authorities.

Plaza said his men watched over the abandoned vehicle for several days until the court released the search warrant.

During the 11 a.m. search, the operatives discovered 73 pieces of elongated roll of marijuana leaves wrapped with transparent plastic bags, packaging tape and the Mitsubishi Delica vehicle.
