JCI Senate Philippines inducts first female president

Historic ceremony held at The Manila Hotel

A historic milestone for JCI Senate Philippines (JCISP) was celebrated on Friday, Jan. 10, with the induction of Dr. Cecilia La Madrid-Dy as its first female president.

The event, which took place at the Tent City of The Manila Hotel, also witnessed the induction of Victoriano V. Cruz as the new Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Philippine Jaycee Senate Foundation (PJFS).

La Madrid-Dy was sworn in by former House Speaker, Quezon City mayor, and JCI World President Feliciano “Sonny” Belmonte Jr.

Meanwhile, Cruz was inducted by World President Victor Jose Luciano.

The event also featured addresses by 2018 JCI World President Brian Lim, who delivered the charge for the Foundation, and 1984 JCI World President Victor Jose Luciano, who gave the charge to the Senate members.

The signing of several memoranda of agreement between JCI Senate Philippines and key project partners was also held, including cooperative agreements with ROPALI for Project TOFIL, Palawan Express for “Project Kasambahay Kasambuhay,” and Firestop Philippines for various community outreach and environmental projects.

Established in 1968, JCI Senate Philippines is a distinguished organization of individuals who have been granted lifetime membership in JCI.

This honor recognizes their exceptional contributions to both the JCI movement and society at large.

With its mission to foster camaraderie among its members and contribute to societal change, JCISP has been a crucial force in empowering leaders to give back to their communities.
