The DFA said the Filipinos came from Oddar Meanchey Province in Cambodia. They arrived in Manila on Sunday morning.

This came after the arrival of 26 Filipinos also from Oddar Meanchey Province, Cambodia on Wednesday, April 16.

Although the DFA did not disclose the reason for their repatriation, the entire Philippine Foreign Service renewed its call for Filipinos to heed the embassy’s advisory on deceptive overseas job opportunities peddled on social media, "which could bring miserable, even harmful outcomes in some cases."

"While always ready to extend prompt Assistance-to-Nationals service, the Philippine Foreign Service urges prudence and discernment among Filipino online job seekers," the department said.

The DFA said the repatriation effort was made possible through the assistance of Cambodian law enforcement authorities and the Philippine Embassy in Phnom Penh.

"This latest series of repatriation of Filipinos was undertaken on the back of  long-standing friendly ties between the Philippines and Cambodia," the department said.

"The Philippine Embassy has conveyed its profound appreciation to the Royal Government of Cambodia for the favorable attention given to the Philippine Government’s representations for the 10 Filipinos to be brought home to their families," it added.

Representatives from government agencies, including the DFA, Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), and Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT), were at the airport to personally receive the 10 repatriates and provide them assistance.

The Philippine Embassy also provided care packages and paid for their repatriation flight through the DFA Assistance to Nationals (ATN) Fund.

The Filipinos arrived at the Immigration headquarters in Phnom Penh on Saturday, after a nine-hour journey from Oddar Meanchey, the DFA said.
