The wait is over for Rizal foodies as BB.Q Chicken, South Korea’s premier fried chicken brand, officially opened its 15th Philippine branch at Robinsons Antipolo on April 7, bringing its world-famous “Best of the Best Quality” promise to local chicken lovers.
“Filipinos’ love for chicken drove us to expand,” said Rep. Richelle Singson of the Ako Ilokano Ako party list and the LCS Group. “The competition in the Philippines is so intense. When we brought it in, we saw how much Filipinos love chicken. With the unique flavors that BB.Q Chicken has, everyone enjoys it. So we want to thank everyone. We offer the best of the best quality chicken here.”
BB.Q Chicken first arrived in the Philippines in November 2022, opening a 138-seat restaurant on the second floor of Central Square in Bonifacio Global City. The expansion is part of a partnership between parent company Genesis BB.Q and the LCS Group of former Ilocos Sur Gov. Chavit Singson.
Kim Singson, CEO of KAS Restaurant Group, shared that the team underwent three weeks of intensive training at the brand’s Chicken University in Icheon, South Korea. The more than 300-square-meter facility, located about 60 kilometers from Seoul, is where employees master recipes and store operations to maintain BB.Q Chicken’s global standards.
Antipolo’s vibrant community made it an ideal location for the latest branch, Kim added.
Tanya Llana, vice president of Genesis BB.Q Asia, emphasized the Antipolo branch’s versatility in serving different functions, from casual family dining to business gatherings.
“It’s a 130-seating capacity with a VIP area and a mezzanine area for parties. We can host meetings. It is one of the bigger spaces with maximized efficiency,” Llana said.
BB.Q Chicken was founded in 1995 by Chairman Yoon Hong-geun, who had a simple but powerful dream — to share the magic of Korean fried chicken with the world.
What began as a single restaurant in Seoul has since grown to more than 3,500 locations across 57 countries.
In the Philippines, expansion continues with new branches in Baguio City and SM Mall of Asia on the horizon. With 15 stores and counting, BB.Q Chicken aims to make the country its flagship market in Southeast Asia.
Whether dining in or ordering takeout from one of its branches — including BGC High Street, Central Square, The Shops at BGC, Newport Mall in Pasay, Evia Lifestyle Center in Las Piñas, Festival Mall in Alabang, Vista Mall in Sta. Rosa, Robinsons Magnolia in Quezon City, Ayala Malls Feliz in Pasig, SM Grand Central in Caloocan, SM Pampanga, SM Clark, SM Telabastagan in San Fernando, or the Grab & Go stores at SM Megamall and Robinsons Manila — customers can expect the same authentic taste, bold flavors and warm hospitality that define the brand.
The menu features more than a dozen chicken varieties, including the signature Golden Original, Honey Garlic and Gangnam Style, along with Korean sides like cheese sticks, bibimbap and tteokbokki.
