Rape-slay suspect falls in Quezon


UNISAN, Quezon -- Police arrested a man on Monday for allegedly raping and killing a 13-year-old girl here.

The suspect was identified as Joe.

He was arrested by  the provincial intelligence unit and Unisan police.

The victim was asked by her mother to remit Small Town Lottery (STL) collection when she went missing on Sunday morning, March 16.

A search was conducted and her body was found in  forested area later Sunday.

Police conducted follow-up operation and arrested the suspect.

The suspect faces appropriate cases.

Meanwhile,  a 31-year-old farmer was hacked to death by an 83-year-old farmer for being noisy in Barangay Villa Espina, Lopez, Quezon  on Monday morning, March 17.

Police identified the victim as Ronnel and the suspect was Gregorio.

Investigation said the  victim was arranging anahaw leaves for sale when the suspect approached from behind and hacked the back of Ronnel's neck with a 20-inch bolo.

The victim died on the spot.

Police arrested the  suspect who said that he killed the victim for being  noisy.

Police recovered the murder weapon.

The suspect faces a homicide complaint.
