The center is an initiative of the Municipal Government of Taytay, led by Mayor Allan De Leon, in collaboration with the Sangguniang Bayan, the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC), and the Local Committee on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and Children (LCAT-VAWC).

"This is a place where abuse ends, and recovery begins,” the Taytay Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) said.

The MSWDO said the event marked a historic step in social protection, advocating for a community free from abuse and violence while safeguarding the welfare of vulnerable sectors.

“Layunin nito ang magkaroon ng maayos at ligtas na pansamantalang tahanan ang mga babae at bata na biktima ng anumang uri ng pang-aabuso kasabay ang pagbibigay ng angkop na pagtulong at interbensyon para sila ay magkaroon ng pag-asa magpatuloy sa kanilang buhay at kinabukasan (Its goal is to provide a safe and proper temporary shelter for women and children who are victims of any form of abuse, while also offering appropriate assistance and intervention to help them rebuild their lives and future),” it said.

De Leon said that it is a significant step in improving the local government’s services and ensuring the safety and well-being of women and children in Taytay.

Taytay residents are encouraged to support women and children in need. Those seeking help may reach out to the MSWD or the Taytay Women and Children's Center.

Congressional aspirant Rebecca ‘Mia’ Ynares, Municipal Councilor JV Cabitac, along with judges from the Family Court, prosecutors from the Department of Justice, lawyers from the Public Attorney's Office, and personnel from the Police Provincial Office and Taytay Municipal Police Station, also attended the event.
