IMPT.io, a blockchain-based sustainability platform, unveiled its #ExploreResponsibly campaign, a global initiative primarily to offset tourists’ and travelers’ carbon footprint, commencing in the Philippines.
Mike English, chief technology officer of IMPT.io, said the campaign has three main goals – carbon conscious tourism, tourism sustainable brand partnerships, and raising awareness through Web3 incentives.
#ExploreResponsibly will educate travelers about the environmental impact of tourism and provide actionable steps for reducing their carbon footprints.
IMPT.io’s platform, which can be explored at IMPT.io’s carbon offsetting solutions, allows travelers to track and offset their emissions by purchasing verified carbon credits through blockchain technology.
Whether booking flights, accommodations, or activities with sustainable brand partners, users can make informed decisions and support verified sustainability projects worldwide.
IMPT.io is collaborating with eco-friendly travel agencies, airlines, and hospitality brands that prioritize sustainability through its campaign, and has even launched IMPTtravel.com to help travelers easily choose eco-tourism destinations and partners.
For incentives, IMPT.io is gamifying the sustainable travel experience by leveraging Web3 technology.
“Participants in the #ExploreResponsibly campaign can earn NFT-based rewards for engaging in eco-conscious activities, such as using public transportation, choosing carbon-neutral accommodations, or supporting local conservation projects,” English said. These rewards can be redeemed for discounts, donations, or further carbon offset initiatives.
“We believe that every traveler has the power to make a difference. With the #ExploreResponsibly campaign, we’re making it easier for people to understand their impact and take meaningful steps toward sustainability. Blockchain technology enables transparency and accountability, ensuring that eco-conscious choices truly benefit the planet," English said.
