PDEA seizes P10.2M ‘shabu’ in Zamboanga, QC drug stings

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested six drug suspects and confiscated a combined P10.2 million worth of illegal drugs in separate buy-bust operations in Zamboanga City and Quezon City on Thursday, March 6.

Anti-narcotics operatives of the PDEA arrested Edrian Alvarez, 20; Jason Orquijo, 39; Alrakib Dasid, 36; and Ellan Testado, 42, in a drug sting in Brgy. San Roque, Zamboanga City.

Authorities confiscated from the suspects around 1,000 grams of suspected “shabu” concealed in a vacuum-sealed plastic pack and placed inside a Chinese tea bag. The estimated worth of the seized drugs is P6.8 million, according to PDEA.

The suspects also yielded the boodle money, a cellular phone, a motorcycle, and a blue tricycle.

Meanwhile, alias “Lei”, 34, and her minor cohort were arrested along the southbound portion of EDSA Balintawak in Barangay Apolonio Samson, Quezon City around 4:50 p.m.

A combined operating team from the PDEA and Quezon City police recovered from the suspects five knot-tied transparent plastic bags containing around 500 grams of suspected shabu with a street value of P3.4 million, and the buy-bust money.

The suspects from the two operations are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2012.
