₱1 flights! Cebu Pacific launches Cebu-Ho Chi Minh City route

Cebu Pacific, the country’s leading budget carrier, is set to launch direct flights between Cebu and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam in April.

In a statement on Thursday, Feb. 20, Cebu Pacific said flights will begin on April 7 and shall be available thrice a week—every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

“As Vietnam continues to grow in popularity among Filipino travelers, launching a new gateway to the country via Ho Chi Minh City is an exciting step for Cebu Pacific,” said Cebu Pacific President and Chief Commercial Officer Xander Lao.

To promote the new route, the airline is offering flights for as low as ₱1 for a one-way base fare, exclusive of fees and surcharges, until Monday, Feb. 24.

The travel period for flights booked under this promo will run from April 7 to July 31, 2025.

Cebu Pacific said the new non-stop flights mark the first time an airline connects passengers from Central Visayas directly to Vietnam.

Formerly known as Saigon, Ho Chi Minh City is tagged as the economic heart of Vietnam. The city’s top landmarks include the Notre Dame Cathedral, Saigon Central Post Office, and the Saigon Opera House.

“We look forward to offering travelers from Cebu the chance to explore a new destination more seamlessly, and to welcoming more international visitors to discover the Philippines,” said Lao.

In 2024, the carrier flew over 5.6 million passengers to and from Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) in 2024, accounting for nearly half of the airport’s total passenger traffic of 11.3 million.

Cebu Pacific operates 24 domestic destinations from MCIA, alongside the six current international destinations.

The direct flights abroad are to Hong Kong, Bangkok (Don Mueang), Incheon, Tokyo (Narita), Osaka (Kansai), and Singapore.

In total, Cebu Pacific operates in 37 domestic and 26 international destinations spanning Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.
