Flower shops abound in Antipolo’s Sumulong Park on Valentine’s Day

Stalls selling all kinds of flowers, fresh and artificial, in various sizes and colors, have lined Antipolo City's Sumulong Park on the eve of Valentine's Day.

The city’s promenade park beside the International Shrine of the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage was teeming with vendors selling Valentine items, mostly flowers.

A vendor of fresh flowers told the Manila Bulletin that a piece of long stemmed red rose was selling for P100 while the price of a bouquet with three red roses starts from P500 depending on the arrangement and design.

The best sellers are the long stemmed giant sunflowers which cost P200 to P250.

Artificial flowers of all sizes, colors, designs, and arrangements are among the items that are also being sold in various stalls at Sumulong Park.

Glasses and coffee mugs with heart designs and prints, complete with mini LED lights are among the novelty items one can find at the city proper’s promenade park.

Some of the flower stalls will remain open until the evening of Feb. 14 as customers are expected to do the last-minute purchase as Valentine's Day falls on a Friday, which is also a payday and the start of the weekend.
