Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Cesar Chavez has designated the agency's senior undersecretary to be his temporary reliever while he is on leave.
Chavez disclosed to reporters on Thursday, Feb. 13, that he designated senior Undersecretary Emerald Ridao as the officer-in-charge (OIC) of the PCO while he is physically on leave from Feb. 17 to 21.
"Yes, SU (senior undersecretary) Emerald Ridao is a one-week OIC," he said, confirming the temporary designation of Ridao.
It came amid rumors that the PCO acting secretary is resigning from his post.
In a special order dated Feb. 12, Chavez tasked Ridao to "take care of the day-to-day operations of the PCO, and if necessary, act for and on behalf of the Acting Secretary."
While he is on leave, Chavez said he will still try to work at full capacity.
"I will try to work at full capacity while physically on leave," he said.
