Kia Philippines, a subsidiary of ACMobility, is joining the hybrid arena with their latest model, the Sorento Turbo Hybrid. The inclusion of a hybrid powertrain in the Sorento hopes to offer Filipino families a perfect blend of eco-conscious driving, astounding fuel efficiency, robust all-wheel drive performance, and modern luxury.
Hybrid powertrain
At the heart of the new Kia Sorento Turbo Hybrid is a 1.6-liter turbocharged Smartstream Gasoline Direct Injection engine paired with an electric motor and a lithium-ion traction battery. This intelligent hybrid powertrain generates a combined output of 235-PS and 367-Nm of torque, ensuring efficient, smooth acceleration and dynamic power distribution through a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Available in front-wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) variants, the Sorento Turbo Hybrid comes equipped with selectable drive modes — Eco, Sport, and Smart — as well as three terrain-specific options — Snow, Mud, and Sand, to maximize traction over various driving surfaces. This versatility, combined with Kia's innovative Electrification Vehicle Motion Control (E-VMC) system, guarantees a comfortable, responsive, and adaptable driving experience.
It comes with E-VMC technology enhances handling, ride comfort, and safety during evasive maneuvers. Featuring E-Handling, E-Ride, and E-Evasive Handling Assist systems that make use of the electric motor to improve riding comfort and driving stability, E-VMC makes every drive seamless while enhancing driver confidence on-road or off-road over a variety of terrain.
Moreover, the Sorento Turbo Hybrid’s Smart Regeneration feature maximizes the system’s battery regeneration function by automatically selecting regeneration intensity based on vehicle distance, speed, and road slope when coasting. This ensures the traction battery will operate at optimum levels in every drive.
With its hybrid powertrain, up to 23 km/l can be realized in urban settings. This also exempts the new Kia Sorento Turbo Hybrid from the Vehicular Volume Reduction Program or number coding scheme.
Premium cabin experience
Inside, the Sorento Turbo Hybrid combines luxury with technology. Premium materials, leather upholstery, and power-adjustable seating with seat ventilation set the tone up front. At the same time, dual 12.3-inch digital displays in the EX+ and SX variants offer a modern and stylish interface to the Sorento Turbo Hybrid’s advanced safety and operational systems.
The EX+ Turbo Hybrid FWD and SX Turbo Hybrid AWD variants further elevate the experience with a 12-speaker Bose premium sound system providing a high-fidelity audio experience for passengers in every journey.
The 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for effortless connectivity while functioning as a control center for the Sorento Turbo Hybrid’s safety and convenience systems.

The new Kia Sorento Turbo Hybrid is available in three variants: the EX Turbo Hybrid FWD at P2,188,000; the mid-trim EX+ Turbo Hybrid FWD at P2,588,000; and the range-topping SX Turbo Hybrid AWD at P2,888,000.
It also comes in four stylish colors: Volcanic Sand Brown, Aurora Black Pearl, Silky Silver, and Snow White Pearl.
Kia Philippines also offers a comprehensive warranty package, covering five years or 160,000 km for the vehicle, five years or 160,000 km for the electric motor, and an eight-year or 160,000-km warranty for the traction battery.
