Thousands of Manileños now have jobs after the Manila City Government held three simultaneous job fairs on Friday, Jan. 31.
Manila Honey Lacuna-Pangan congratulated the newly-employed Manileños who were hired on the spot in the job fairs held in coordination with the public employment service office (PESO) headed by Fernan Bermejo and various public companies who have been supporting her administration on the said endeavor.
The three job fairs, according to the mayor, aimed to provide jobs for those seeking employment.
She thanked the establishments that participated through their job offerings, as well as the Department of Labor and Employment - National Capital Region and the DOLE-NCR Manila Field Office for their support.
“Trabaho sa Bahong Pilipinas Job Fair" was held at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum on P. Ocampo St., Malate, Manila.
At the Rizal Coliseum, the TESDA skills demo and free training was also conducted, along with the one-stop-shop pre-smployment documentation and advisory services.
The “Kalinga sa Maynila PESO Job Fair” was held from 8 a.m. to 12 noon at the corner of Escoda and A. Linao Streets in Paco, Manila.
The “Mega Job Fair” held at the Arroceros Forest Park in Lawton, Ermita, Manila, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The mayor assured the Manileños that those who failed to make it to the said simultaneous job fairs will still have a chance to try their luck in future ones as her administration continously holds such job fairs.
In each job fair, all that is required of applicants is to wear casual attire and to bring their own ballpens and at least 10 copies of resume.
