BATANGAS CITY – A 33-year-old construction worker was apprehended for rape and acts of lasciviousness here on Tuesday, Jan. 28.
Police identified the suspect as Jojo.

He was arrested on a warrant issued by Judge Maria Socorro A. Godoy of the Family Court, Regional Trial Court Branch 1, Batangas City, dated Jan. 27.
Jojo faces four counts of rape through sexual assault with a recommended bail of P780,000.
He was also charged with two counts of acts of lasciviousness in relation to Section 5(B) of Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act with a recommended bail of P360,000.
Batangas police chief Police Col. Jacinto Malinao Jr. commended arresting units. "The success of this operation is a testament to the professionalism and teamwork of our officers. Their unwavering commitment to law enforcement has made Batangas a safer place for everyone."
The suspect was taken to the custodial facility of the Batangas City Component City Police Station awaiting legal proceedings.
