Blacklist International has disbanded its most successful esports team, announcing its exit from the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang professional scene after five fruitful years that saw the team once reign as M3 World Champions.

“There will always be things left unsaid, but right now these are the words that we can muster. After making the difficult decision to sell our slot in the MPL, it's time to say  farewell, and to thank you all for making Blacklist International what it is today,” the esports organization said in a post.

In a separate statement, Tier One Entertainment, the mother company of Blacklist International, said the selling of its franchise in the MPL Philippines was a business decision that is aligned to the company’s new direction.

And though the Tier One is not entirely closing its doors on possibly making a return to the MLBB scene, it said that it intends to focus on its teams in other esports titles.

“This difficult decision was made in response to the business opportunity that was presented to us which aligns with the new direction of Tier One Entertainment to go beyond Esports,” it said.

“While Blacklist International is open to reentering the league in the future, we want to use this time to reassess our position in the space. For now, the Blacklist International organization will be focusing our efforts into developing our rosters for our existing titles,” it added.

Blacklist International also thanked its fans, the Agents, for the unwavering support to its MLBB team, particularly during its peak when it dominated the scene back in 2021 – a stretch that saw the team, bannered by the royal duo of Johnmar “OmyV33nus” Villaluna and Danerie “Wise” Del Rosario, claim one title after another.

The team, which also featured Kiel “Oheb” Soriano, Salic “Hadji” Imam and Edward “Edward” Dapadap and coached by Bonn “Bon Chan” Ricaplaz,a won the MPL Philippines Season 7 and 8 titles, captured the M3 World title – the second Filipino team to do so – and finished second in the MSC 2021.

Though not as great of a run like the one it had in 2021, Blacklist remained a force the following year claiming the MPL PH S10 title and became the first team to get a chance to defend its title in the world stage when it reached the M4 Championship grand finals.

While the team failed to complete a repeat, it finished second behind ECHO Philippines.

Even when Wise and OhMyV33nus went inactive, Blacklist kept its status as one of the scene’s best with Renejay “Renejay” Barcase and Kenneth “Yue” Tadeo steering the team to its third world championship appearance in the M5 worlds.

With Blacklist’s departure, a new team is expected to take its place in MPL PH with international esports organization like Falcon and Twisted Minds long rumored to enter the Philippines – MLBB’s most successful region in terms of world championships won.
