BI says Alice Guo's brother Wesley may still be in Indonesia

Wesley L. Guo, the brother of dismissed Mayor Alice L. Guo of Bamban town in Tarlac, is still believed to be in Indonesia, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said on Wednesday, Sept. 4.

“We have not yet received confirmation from Indonesian authorities whether umalis po sya ng bansa but sa tingin po natin (that he left Indonesia but we believe) he is still inside Indonesia," said BI Spokesperson Dana Krizia Sandoval during an interview on PTV’s Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon.

Sandoval disclosed that the BI received information that Wesley left Indonesia for Hong Kong.

However, she said “wala po tayo nakuhang confirmation from Hong Kong authorities (we have not received confirmation from Hong Kong authorities).”

Sandoval said the BI is currently coordinating with Indonesian authorities for the return of Alice to the Philippines after her arrest.

Citing reports from the Indonesian government, Sandoval said Alice  was alone in her rented unit when she was arrested as an illegal alien by local authorities at 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday in Banten in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Prior the arrest, Sandoval said the BI informed Indonesian authorities that Alice is the subject of an arrest order here in the Philippines and also has documentation as a Filipino and as a Chinese citizen.

“She (Alice) has both a Chinese identity and a Philippine  identity na tingin po natin ay fraudulently acquired (which we believe was fraudulently acquired),”
