A total of 878 personnel of the Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DPPF) had been cleared of illlegal drugs use after undergoing surprise drug tests, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) said.

Those who underwent drug testing included  uniformed personnel, civilians, and job order employees of the penal farm. "The tests all yielded negative results,” the BuCor said.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Aug. 25, the BuCor said "the surprise drug test manifests DPPF’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of government service and ethical standards among its ranks."

The drug tests were conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Davao del Norte Provincial Office last Tuesday, Aug. 20.

During the drug testing, DPPF Acting Superintendent C/SInsp Edgardo F. Mendoza reminded personnel “to perform their jobs within the bounds of the law.”

He also urged everyone "to remain faithful to their sworn duties and display utmost professionalism and integrity in the performance of their mandated tasks."
