  • Electric mobility (e-mobility) as an integrated component in the retail power package of ACEN is not just seen as a ‘nice-to-have’ sustainability solution, but it is also regarded as a strategic step for companies to step away from carbon-spewing transport system which may soon wane as a relic of the past.

A scion of the Zobel-led conglomerate has called on businesses to seriously consider revolutionizing their logistics fleets and transport solutions to electric vehicles (EVs); and to have it bundled in procuring electricity services via the retail electricity supplier (RES) package of ACEN Corporation, the power generation business unit of the Ayala group.

During a Resurgence conference which highlighted the RES clients of ACEN, AC Mobility Chief Executive Officer Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala enthusiastically persuaded “businesses to shift to electric vehicles for their mobility and logistics operations to reinforce their sustainability commitments while providing cost-saving solution for their operations.”

He qualified that electric mobility (e-mobility) as an integrated component in the retail power package of ACEN is not just a ‘nice-to-have’ sustainability solution, but this is also a strategic step for companies to step away from carbon-spewing transport system which may soon be regarded as a relic of the past.

“The proposition we’d like to make to you as business owners is that we can leverage our relationships with ACEN to develop a fully green charging network so that your entire mobility experience is completely green from the point of purchase throughout the entire usage,” the young Zobel said.

The shift to a green transport network – either for a company’s logistics needs or cars used by executives and employees – is seen as a bold decision being embraced by many corporates that understand the imperative of growing a business, while also giving premium to the environment.

“We will work with you, hopefully, to develop that proposition by putting the infrastructure in place that’s convenient and that enables your business to save money and continue to move forward,” Zobel enthused.

During the Resurgence event, ACEN in particular, had enticed the participation of more than 350 business leaders and decision-makers from different industries – primarily those which are taking their plunge into patronizing renewable energy (RE)) in powering their businesses.

“We’re bringing together both our current long-term and potential new customers, and we really view them as our partners in our sustainability journey,” ACEN President and CEO Eric T. Francia said.

He qualified that while “we’re still in the very early days of the energy transition, and as an early adopter and innovator, we hope to align and partner with like- minded leaders and organizations.”

Francia further asserted “we really look forward to celebrating this partnership with you because, after all, we are in this together as trailblazers in this sustainability journey that we're all going through.”

According to the Ayala energy firm, the Resurgence conference had targeted “to equip business leaders with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions about integrating renewable energy into their operations.”

As explained, Resurgence essentially dangles suite of solutions that will integrate renewable energy (RE), sustainability, green mobility as well as convergence with corresponding bottom line targets through the chain of business operations.

Tony Valdez, senior vice president for Market Transformation of ACEN, conveyed that the program had been anchored on a context, as underpinned by research, that “many business owners were unsure of sustainability and its impact on the bottom line.”

He narrated that ACEN was prompted on organizing the Resurgence event to address questions and concerns of businesses – primarily on their energy supply sourcing; and to ultimately “inspire them to take the first steps in embarking on a sustainability journey.”

To showcase the initial successes of its RES-offered solutions, the company through ACEN Managing Director and COO for Philippine Operations Miguel de Jesus and Ayala Corporation Chief Sustainability and Risk Officer Jaime Urquijo, bestowed the  Renewable Energy Enabler Awards (REENA) to trailblazing clients, such as Pacific Synergy Corp., E.L. Laboratories, Glacier Megafridge, Golden Harvests, Jotun Philippines, J2NS Property Development Corp., Uratex/RGC Group of Companies and the University of San Carlos.
