Farewell dinner at Savage: Chef Josh Boutwood hosts memorable evening before relocation

The restaurant will be closing its doors to patrons starting July 1, 2024

Chef Josh Boutwood recently hosted a farewell dinner party for friends and the media on June 30, 2024, at Savage in The Plaza, Arya Residences, BGC, Taguig City.

The restaurant will be closing its doors to patrons starting July 1, 2024. It’s not a goodbye, though, as Savage will only be relocating to a new location at nearby East Gallery Place in BGC.

“Six years is quite a long time, and I'm somebody who is constantly chasing after challenges and exciting new horizons. So we had this opportunity to relocate the restaurant to a brand new location, and we took it,” shared Chef Josh.

“It’s an exciting evolution for Savage. You know, it’s my oldest restaurant, but it’s the one that has the most sentimental value to me. I cannot wait, and I am excited with almost childlike enthusiasm for the new restaurant opening.”

Chef Josh Boutwood opened Savage in 2018 with a unique concept: embracing simplicity and the rugged side of cooking. Savage used fire instead of gas or electricity to prepare a range of dishes, from small plates to hearty mains and plant-based options.

At the farewell dinner, guests dined on Savage classics, which Chef Josh promised will still be on the menu of the new restaurant, set to open sometime in the 4th quarter of this year.

There were Chilean mussels, their famed deviled eggs, oak-smoked salmon, ribeye steak, smoked pork and beef links, and kladdkaka (Swedish chocolate cake).
